I’m a frequent lecturer at the University of Waterloo. In the past I’ve taught staff and faculty through Skills for the Electronic Workplace and the annual staff web conference WatITis (2010, 2011).

I’ve been a lover of TED talks for a long time, and have been a volunteer for our local TEDxWaterloo talks since its inauguration in 2009. In November 2011, I was given the opportunity to curate my own TEDxWaterloo Salon.


My working biography

Kayleigh Platz received her MA in Public Issues Anthropology, in the area of design and marketing research methods from the University of Waterloo. She has been studying new media since 2005, and her interests range from online communication and social networks to the cyberworld culture, and online voyeurism.

Kayleigh is currently the Senior Digital Media Specialist for Communitech. She has most recently worked as the Social Media Specialist for the University of Waterloo Stratford Campus and the University of Waterloo
